This guide outlines how we replace batteries with the Josta GPS tracking units. Below we can see the last online status of the devices if it more than 3,4 days then it better to replace the batteries, Best practise is keep one day for change all the batteries, then nothing get missed when it offline for while.
Eg: Change all Josta unit batteries in April 1st week in every year.
Steps
1. First, gather the materials :
- Tracking device (Oyster or Yabby)
- Screw driver
- Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries: 3x AA for Oyster, or 3x AAA for Yabby
- (Get in touch with Bitberry to place the battery order, specifying the quantity of each model)
2. Unscrew 6x screws the tracking device from its box:
3. Take out the three used batteries from the tracking devices and dispose of them properly.
4. Inserted the three new batteries into the tracking device on the with correct orientation to match polarity. (Insert the batteries into the battery holder with appropriate force without touching the sensitive electronic components on the device. The blue indicator light within the box will flash three times.)
5. If indicating light flash then check the rubber seal and screw back 6x screws to the tracking device.
(Do not overtighten the screws, but please ensure the two halves of the housing fit snugly to prevent water/dust ingress when installed.)
** IMPORTANT ** After inserting batteries, please check with the system online status of the device which replace the batteries. Otherwise, the device will not send data to Josta. Each box has an ID sticker on the side which uniquely associates with a specific device, make sure to use plastic cover with serial number to its relevant device.
The Josta device is now ready for use.
