Background
This guide provides a step-by-step process to manage assigning default Bill of Material (BOM) coding for Mesh production based on different products being produced on different production devices.
Before You Begin
- Ensure you are logged into Elda(Chrome). See our article Log in to an Elda Database for more.
- Ensure you have access to the Bundles Tags app in the Elda(Chrome) Folder. See our article Getting Started with Bundle Tags for more.
- Ensure that the necessary Bill of Material definitions have been established in your companies accounting software..
- Ensure you have opened Bundle Tags.
Steps to Follow
- Open the Mesh Production form within the Bundle Tags application:
- Select the "Production Batch Details" tab on the Mesh Production form.
- Click the "Batch Setting" button in the Production Batch Details tab:
- Click the Production Defaults tab on the lower grid section of the Mesh Batch Parameters form:
- Select the mesh code that you wish to assign a default BOM for:
- In the Production Default grid, select the Production line that you wish to assign the default BOM to:
- Select the Default BOM that you wish to assign to this production Line:
- Enter a description (If required, Optional) against the default for ready reference.
- Enter any other required default BOM's for this Mesh Product:
- Press the Save button to commit the changes to the Database.
Creating default BOM's for products against devices applies immediately to any tags scanned by the specified device.
Any tags for this material scanned by this device will be applied to the accounting package with the specified BOM as and when they are submitted to the Accounting package interface.
If no Heat data is loaded on the Mesh production device and a mesh tag is scanned for a product without a default BOM, The accounting packages default BOM for the Mesh product will be applied.
If Heat data is loaded to the device , the accounting interface will attempt to assign the BOM based on the materials loaded and the product being produced.
This is not as reliable as defining the default BOM as multiple products may be component items in a particular BOM leaving to multiple choices when attempting to deduce the BOM to use.
