Off-Coil Device Queue Management

Overview

Off-Coil devices no longer require cut sheets to be produced instead relying on the delivery time and production status of tags assigned to the actual device.

This mechanism allows the device queue to be examined and allows for re-allocation of work assigned to other devices to load balance production.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you have access to Cut Optimiser.  If you don't see Cut Optimiser in your available Elda (Chrome) shortcuts, you may need to request access to it.  Please see our article on how to Request access to an Elda Application.
  • Ensure you have access to the View Throughput Control permission within the cut optimiser permission set. If you do not have access the View Device Queue menu item will be disabled.

How to Access Off-Coil Device Queue Management

Start the Cut Optimiser application and select View|Device Queue Menu option from the top menu bar:

The following screen will display:

Using the Device Queue Form

  • The upper grid provides an overview of work assigned to the different Off-Coil devices at the factory centre.
  • Selecting a device from this list will provide a detailed list of items in production order that are scheduled to be processed by the device.
  • Note that times in the upper grid are in hours while times in the lower grid are in minutes
  • By default, the view will examine production due within the next day. Alter the look ahead days number and press the Refresh Button to look ahead a longer or shorter period.
  • By default, all sites available are displayed. If a view of a particular site is required, use the Filter By site drop down that you wish to view devices for. Once changed press the Refresh Button to update the display.
  • Press the Refresh Button at any time to update the display if required.
  • Press the Close Button to close the Device Queue form and return to the cut optimiser application.
  • This Form is designed to be run in Dual Screen mode. The Device queue window can be displayed one one screen while the Cut Optimiser Window can be displayed on another. The two windows will operate independently.
  • The "Filter Tags For" text area can be used to filter to tag grid to display required records. Currently any text in the Schedule, Tag Number, Product or Shape field will be searched for the entered text.

Re-Assigning work to different devices

  • Select the device from which to move work from in the top grid. Only one device can be selected at a time.
