Open Process Monitor

Before you begin

• You have downloaded Process Monitor. See Download Process Monitor.

Steps to take

1. Locate the folder where Process Monitor was extracted. See Download Process Monitor. 
2. Open the folder
   
3. Select the version you wish to run
   Procmon.exe is for 32-bit systems
   Procmon64.exe is for 64-bit systems
4. Right-click the version you with to run and select Run as administrator
   While it is not necessary to run Process Monitor as administrator, not doing so may limit what Process Monitor can see. For example, if your user account does not have administrator access, you will likely be able to view only your processes.
   
5. Process Monitor starts
