Xero Multi Tenancy

Overview

This feature only applies to customers using the Xero Accounting System in conjunction with Elda Chrome.

Elda has been altered to allow for Multiple Xero accounts integrating to a central Elda Database.

It Achieves this through a Tenant system.

Each account in Xero is assigned a Tenant ID. When a customer agrees to share data with Elda for integration purposes, Elda is advised of the Tennant number and makes adjustments within the database to incorporate the new Xero account.

Once the Tenant numbers have been assigned (Multiple Tenants are allowed against a single Elda Database)

  • Unless stated, any customer who is not assigned to a particular Tenant ID is automatically included in the Tenancy for the Primary company
  • The same customer may be entered into multiple Xero Databases however each one is assigned a unique ContactID by Xero and cannot "share" data between the same Elda Customer.

An Elda Customer can only be linked to a single Xero Account  so, if this is required, multiple Elda Customers would need to be established for each Xero account required.

Maintaining Customer Tenant Numbers

Once the Tennant numbers have been identified by Elda and entered into the account setup by BitBerry, The customer may then assign customers to individual Xero accounts as required.

In the Customer Maintenance screen (Available in multiple applications but specifically here in the Scheduler Application) on The Account Details Tab, details of the Xero Tenancies is availeble.

Select the Tenant that the customer belongs to using the drop down list. When selected, a list of customers available for that Tennant will become available in the Xero Customer list:

By default, If a customer is not specifically assigned to a tenant, they will be assigned to the primary tenant within Elda.

Assigning Customer's to tenants is only required in the following circumstances:

  • A customer needs to be assigned to the non-Primary company tenancy
  • There are multiple contacts defined in Xero and a specific contact needs to be specified

Once details are correct press save to update changes.
