Creating a Placeholder Tag at the Scanner

Background

A placeholder tag is created when during processing, a unit of steel will have a a tag that will not scan due to damage or is not recognised by the system.

The operator can elect to create a placeholder tag for the steel so that heat traceability can be maintained.

Steps to follow

1. Scan the bundle tag, you will get a "No matching heat with sufficient remaining weight found" message if no eligible heats found.

   

2. Press the Assign button to open Assign placeholder heat tag window.

   

3. Select the placeholder tag's supplier and material, and press Confirm.

   

4. Scan the bundle tag again, to assign the placeholder tag to the bundle tag, and mark the bundle tag as produced.
