Join Bitscan using Touchscreen
The Bitscan device is usually supplied not configured to the customers WIFI network as a customer may have several Access Points on Premises.
Before a Bitscan Touch device can function correctly, it must be joined to the relevant WIFI Access Point.
Power on the Bitscan Touch device.
Non connectivity to network is indicated by the Wifi Symbol on the start screen not being green in colour:
Press the WIFI Indicator to open the WIFI details screen:
Press the Edit Button to open the WIFI configuration screen:
Press the Access Point drop down to display a list of WIFI access points available. If the required Access Point is not in the list, check nothing is obstructing the signal to the required Access Point and that it is configured to broadcast its SSID.
Select the required access point from the drop down list.
Enter the required password in the password box by clicking on the password box, then using the pop-up keyboard to enter it.
Once all details are entered, save the changes by pressing the Save button on the WIFI configuration screen.
Press the OK button to return the device to the main screen.
Reboot the device by pressing the power button briefly to apply the changes then check that the device has joined the network correctly.
Join Bitscan using WIFI
If a Bitscan device fails to join a network, it reverts to a WIFI access point. Joining the WIFI network will allow you to configure the device without having direct access to it.
Provided the device has not joined a WIFI network it will be visible in a WIFI scan with a name of Bitscan-Setup
Join your device to this network and use a web browser application to access the device on http:\\192.168.4.1. Default password to the access point is bitscanadmin
You will be prompted for a username and password which for a default device is admin for both. This may be changed as part of the setup procedure but details of the change kept for future reference.
Use the setup option to access details of the devices configuration:
Enter the Access Point name and password (twice) the System Settings portion of the Settings Page.
Press the save button at the bottom of this page to save the changed settings.
The Bitscan device will automatically reboot and attempt to join the new network. If successful the WIFI Icon on the front page will be green and clicking the Icon will provide details of the network connection.
If the WIFI Icon remains blue then the device did not succesfully join the network. The above process may be repeated to check that correct information has been entered.
