Background
The Shape Calculator is a system to create and customize rebar items so that customers requested specifications can be met during production. The system includes a library of bar shapes images to assist users in determining the correct rebar items.
This system also allows users to generate a sequence of different sized rebar items so that they can be created when required.
Accessing the Shape Calculator from Scheduler
1. With a schedule open, select the Rebar tab inside the Schedule Details section.
2. In Scheduler, click the Calculators button from the menu and select Bar Calculator from the sub-categories to bring up the Shapes Calculator window.
Accessing the Shape Calculator from ReoQuote
1. Within ReoQuote, select Bar to open the shapes calculator.
Creating Rebar Items
1. Insert a name for the item in the Mark text box.
2. In the Bar text box, enter a bar code or select from the dropdown list.
3. In the Shape text box, enter a shape code or select from the drop-down list.
OR
Alternatively, if you dont know the shape code but you know how it looks, press the Locate button to view the shapes images in the Locate Shape window.
In the Locate Shape window, select the shape you wish to use and double click the shape or press the “Use Selected” button. This will fill the Shape text box in the Shape Calculator window with the selected shapes code.

4. Fill in the dimensions of the shape that you wish to use.
P1: 100 indicates that it will require a 100mm diameter to bend the N20 steel into the L shape.
5. Specify the quantity of the rebar item required in the Quantity text box.
6. Select the price type of the rebar item from the Price Type dropdown box.
7. Tick the “Bar to be cut to fine tolerance” checkbox if you want the bar to be cut precisely.
8. Select the thread type and saw cut locations if necessary.
9. Tick the Galvanised checkbox if you want the rebar item to be galvanised.
10. Enter a comment if necessary.
11. Enter a discount amount if necessary.
12. Press the Save button when you are satisfied with the current rebar item. Otherwise, press the New Item button to clear the current rebar item to create a new one.
13. Press the X in the top right-hand corner to close the Shapes Calculator window and have the rebar item/s added to the rebar grid.
Creating a Sequence of Rebar Items
1. Follow the above steps to determine the first item of the sequence. (Quantity must be greater than 1.)
2. Click the Last Item tab in the Shape Calculator window to open the Last Item menu.
3. Determine every how many bars the dimensions increment should be in place.
4. Set the dimensions of the last rebar item in the sequence. For example, if you set the quantity to 5 in the First Item tab, this dimension will be for the 5th item in the sequence.
5. Tick the Auto increment bar mark checkbox if you want the mark that you set for the first item to be incremented. For example, if you set the 1st items mark to A1, the next 4 items will have marks of A2-A5.
6. Determine how many millimetres each bar sequence dimensions should be rounded to.
7. Press the Generate Sequence button to create the sequence of rebar items and you will be reverted back to the First Item tab. Otherwise, press the Reset Values button to reset the last items dimensions and enter new dimensions.
8. In the First Item tab, press the Close button to move the sequence of rebar items to the Scheduler's or ReoQuote's Rebar grid.
