Issue
Almost immediately on opening an Elda application, an error appears with message "Failed to activate control 'VB.UserControl'"
Background
Many of the Elda applications are made up of an executable file (EXE) and an ActiveX Control file (OCX). In these applications, the role of the executable is to essentially host the ActiveX Control and the executable expects the ActiveX Control to be of a particular version.
Cause
The Elda application executable is expecting an ActiveX Control to be of a particular version; however, a version other than what is expected is registered.
This can occur when ChromeUpdater encounters an issue updating either Elda (Chrome) application executable file, ActiveX Control, or both files.
Solution
- Reinstall the affected Elda application. See Reinstall an Elda Application.
- If reinstalling the affected Elda application did not work, reinstall all Elda applications. See Reinstall all Elda Applications.
- If reinstalling all Elda applications did not work, start a conversation with us.
