Setup Default Printer on a Computer

Background

This article demonstrates how to set up a default printer on your computer.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure that the printer drivers are already installed on the relevant PC. 

 

Steps to follow

  1. Open Start  > Type in Settings


  2. Click on Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

  3. Click on the printer you want and select the Set as default button.



 

As a preferred feature with users we need to keep the printing on one side as default here is how we do it

  1. After the above step click on the Printing preferences button.
  2. Change the  following settings from the Printer Printing Preferences window
    1. Print Type needs to be set to 1- Sided.
    2. The original size and the Paper Size need to be A4 selected 
    3. Paper Tray will change. ( According to the branch printer the tray will change. )
    4. Paper Type will change. ( According to the branch printer the tray will change. )
